Ficus Microcarpa,it’s another name is Retusa Nitida, is an evergreen arbor, it has an umbellate tree crown, weeping branches. It has oval, darkgreen and corious
oppositely simple leaves. It is widely used as street tree or garden tree for landscape.
It is a photophilous, thermophilic tree and fond of acidic soil with shade ,drought and cold tolerance.
Don’t plant Ficus too deep, about 4-5cm from bottom of roots. The position that roots won’
t shake means ok. Water plants immediately after planting. Then water them when surface of soil
is dried out. Ficus doesn’t need too much water. Rots easily if overwatered. At a temperature between
22-28 C, new roots will come up within 15-20 days , as well as new leaves.
Fertilizer: Don’t ferilize till new leaves halfmature. Spray liquid fertilizer N:P:K at the rate of 1:1:1. 1kg
fertilizer per 10,000kg water once every 45days. Full sunshine will get shorter stems and thicker leaves.
After spraying liquid fertilize. leaves will be getting dark-green. Pruning will get more compact leaves.
